segmented memory
сегментированная память
память, адресное пространство которой разбито на отдельные участки, сегменты. Это часто называют сегментированная архитектура памяти (segmented memory architecture). Сегментация памяти позволяет уменьшить длину адреса (адрес начала сегмента находится в регистре) и соответственно сократить объём памяти, занимаемый программой. Кроме того, в сегментированной памяти программы легче изолировать друг от друга, однако управление памятью заметно усложняется
